Here we go.
In KSP, the fictional planetary system has analogs we recognize as referencing our own Solar System. Of particular interest is Jool, the Kerbol system’s gas giant. Boasting a system of five moons, Jool is the most interesting neighborhood we can explore in KSP. Four of the five moons are lifeless hunks of rock, only more interesting than Kerbin’s own moons (Mun and Minmus) by dint of the difficulty in reaching them. The fifth (and closest to the planet) of Jool’s moons is why we care about this system. Laythe has an oxygen atmosphere, huge oceans, and is, without a doubt, the most enticing destination in the Kerbol system. I have decided that the most interesting objective to impose upon myself is to establish a colony on and in orbit around Laythe.
Let’s go get it.
